How to Install Minecraft Launcher on Ubuntu

The idea of playing Minecraft online with friends and family who use different devices felt kind of enticing, so I began to do some research. After googling for a couple of minutes, I stumbled upon a GitHub page that claimed to have an installable launcher that emulated Minecraft. Perhaps there's software online that will enable us to play cross-platform. As I asked myself, 'How are we going to play Minecraft online if the only device I can use is an Ubuntu laptop?' The Minecraft Java Edition version is as easy as a few simple clicks to get it up and running, but could I play with Minecraft Bedrock players without using Windows?
